Bookcase 3D model with long and short variations.
Designed for quick visualisation with four permutations:
- Short bookcase centred on bottom half of cell
- Long bookcase centred on bottom half of cell
- Short bookcase centred on top half of cell
- Long bookcase centred on top half of cell
Models have a footprint of 1 x 0.5 metres and 2 x 0.5 metres for easy placement and snapping to grid.
Pieces are modelled to real-world scale while still fitting within their footprint.
Models are as clean and low-poly as possible to allow for the maximum number of instances in a single scene and best possible performance.
Models are comprised of quads and/or triangles.
Models are properly and cleanly UV mapped with overlapping albedo, and non-overlapping lightmap sets.
Tiling diffuse texture included in PNG format at 512x512 pixels.
Unique and meaningful names for all objects, materials, and textures.
Models have been inspected on the Oculus Rift to ensure they are of acceptable size and proportion in virtual reality.
Preview images were rendered using Maya Hardware 2.0 with the default light set and anti-aliasing enabled.
No plugins were used in the creation of these models.
Bookcases can be solid or composite and consist of one or two compartments. Usually, the lower compartment has shelves or drawers behind two blank doors, and in the upper compartment behind the glass doors, there are adjustable shelves on the shelf holders, allowing to adjust the distance between them depending on the size of the books. The lower compartment of the bookcase can be one width with the top or somewhat wider than it. Usually larger books are stored in the lower compartment. Books on the shelves can be placed in one or two rows. Doors of bookcases can be hinged or sliding, glazed or wooden smooth. The bookcase in the composition of sectional furniture is a separate section vertically, stacked on each other.
