Corrugated cardboard - packaging material used in industry and business, characterized by low weight, low cost and high physical parameters. It is one of the most common materials in the world for use as packaging. A feature of the production of corrugated cardboard is the ability to use paper and cardboard obtained from waste paper, which is positive from the point of view of saving resources and protecting the environment. The disadvantage of corrugated cardboard is its low moisture resistance.
In its type, corrugated cardboard can be two-layer, three-layer, five-layer and seven-layer [1], but as a rule, it consists of three layers: two flat layers of cardboard (topliners) and one layer of paper between them, having a wavy (corrugated) shape (fluting) . Such a composition of the layers makes the corrugated board, despite the characteristics of its components, particularly rigid, having resistance both in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the cardboard and in the directions along the planes. To further improve the physical properties of corrugated cardboard packaging, five- and seven-layer corrugated cardboard are used - a material in which layers of cardboard and paper alternate one after another. The dimensions, quality and other parameters of corrugated cardboard packaging are established by industry standards, which also impose their requirements on the production process.
