The Sd.Kfz. 251 Half-Track was a WW2 German armored fighting vehicle designed by the Hanomag company.
The Sd.Kfz 251 Ausf.B was one of the models of German’s armoured fighting vehicle, which was used in World War II. Its design was based on earlier model Sd.kfz.11 by Hanamog Company.
It was carrying one Maybach HL42 6-cylinder petrol engine producing 100 PS (99 hp, 74 kW) easily. The operational range of this vehicle was 300 km, whereas it was able to crawl with a speed of 52.5 km/h. 12.8hp/tonne was supplied to the tank for the operation. The early model was introduced in 1939 and issued to the 1st panzer division.
The Ausf.B version was equipped with more communication vehicle. Mostly large troops carried it. So that they can always be in contact with the headquarters command.
