My Biggest 3D Modeling Job Ever! (Week 6)

My Biggest 3D Modeling Job Ever! (Week 6)

“This is a big, braggy presentation from a guy trying to live the American start-up dream, but with no money or resources. Lord help you” That was the feedback I received from Bob Wright my mentor after I concluded my presentation on my vision of launching a niche focused 3d modeling and rendering company at a 3D incubator workshop session.

This as you can imagine was a very demoralizing comment especially, coming from my new mentor who I thought would be very supportive and encouraging. So I started my week on a downer but determined to prove him wrong.

Last week I wrote of how I met my now new girl friend Katrina Jones and to my dismay she read the article I posted on this blog. She said I was a sick sick gossiping type dude but she liked my sense of humor. However, she was going to keep a close eye on me and follow me to my next couple of appointments to understand what I really do for a living. So on Monday, I told her I was going to pitch my services to a local entertainment company to see if I could sell them on hiring me whenever they required custom 3d models.

She said she would come with me to help with the presentation and so we arrived at the office by 1.50 pm for my 2pm scheduled appointment with Carlos Caldomir the chief creative officer of the company and known throughout his company as CC.   I had been calling this guy and leaving messages for him for the last 3 weeks but he only finally agreed to meet with me now.

As we were waiting for CC to arrive and the meeting to begin, a guy by the name of Jerry saw Katrina and me sitting in the conference room and stopped in to introduce himself. He said that he was the VP and had been invited by CC to attend the meeting too. He then said that he was initially not planning to attend the meeting but he had just changed his mind and would now be attending. He said all this while looking directly at Katrina or rather her boobs without a single glance at me. It was like I did not exist.

So as the meeting began, I did my usual presentation on what and how I would create the 3d models for them if hired for this project. However, both CC and Jerry directed all their questions towards Katrina as if I was not even there. She bellowed her eyes, moved her lips in a sensual manner and took over my presentation stating that she was my partner and we would deliver an exquisite job for them. At one point, she got up from her chair and worked over to the projected slides on the screen and with her booty facing us all, pointed out something on one of my 3d model demos on the screen that was totally irrelevant. To my amazement both CC and Jerry nodded their heads in alignment like two obedient puppies.

At the end of the meeting I was awarded the contract to create all their 3d models at double my quoted rate because Katrina had said to them that her rate was not included. I could not believe it! They requested that I doubled my rate to include Katrina’s compensation? What sort of magic does this girl have?

As we were driving back home, I asked Katrina what and how does she do what she does? She replied with the following quote: “When people hurt themselves lifting heavy things, it’s usually because they try to lift with their back. The right way to lift heavy things is to let your legs do the work.”  She said she was my legs and she would help me if I made her my partner.  So guess what?  I made her my partner.

I took Katrina with me to another appointment on Wednesday. This time I did not even bother to do the presentation but simply let Katrina Jones do all the talking. Again, we got the job.  To celebrate we left for Las Vegas on Thursday night, we drove down there in 4 hrs in a rented BMW car and spent all day shopping and partying.

Today is Friday. I must say that with Katrina’s help this week, I have gotten my biggest 3d modeling jobs ever. But then I have already spent all the money on Katrina without even starting any of the 3d modeling jobs.

About Me: My name is Jon Max. I am a 3D Model Artist.  I have decided to document my life. One week at a time and share it with you. It is reality TV but on a blog. You will get the truth, no sugar coating of events instead raw and unedited. It’s my life baby!
