Punching bag - leather shell to improve boxing punches (direct and lateral blows). Designed to develop accuracy and speed of strikes. Suspended at boxer chest level. Along with a punching bag, other similar projectiles are used to train punches: a punching bag, a floor bag, or a “stretched pear”.
There are various exercises with a punching bag. You can hit on the speed, trying to beat as often as possible and stronger. You can also strike in motion, as much as possible adapting to the conditions of the boxing ring. Light pears (5-30 kg) are best suited for working out techniques for hitting the head.
Contrary to the common idea, the bag must not be filled with sand but with a soft material, such as cotton or foam. However, a small amount of sand can be introduced to ensure stability. Badly filled, it can cause serious hand injuries.
