The car has kept the details of its predecessors - a massive vertical grille with the "Spirit of Ecstasy" statuette at the top. Since 2007, the car is also available in armored version (armor thickness - 97.1 mm). The famous figure "Spirit of Ecstasy", if necessary, is removed in a special niche by means of an electromechanism. In 2007, Rolls-Royce introduced the convertible based on the Phantom VII model. Rolls-Royce updates the model every few years. The latest model was introduced in 2012. Prior to this, the car was updated in 2009. The differences between the Phantoms of 2009 and 2012 are minor.
Both in the interior and in the exterior, notes of an archaic style can be noted, especially in the instrument panel and car dashboard. In the basic configuration retractable umbrellas are built into the rear doors, which can be reached and opened. More than 70% of these cars are made to order. Phantom is found in the version of the body type "Limousine". Almost all cars have rear-wheel drive (but sometimes four-wheel drive versions were sometimes made to order). The rear doors of the car open against the move, which provides a more comfortable and effective exit from the cabin. The second row of seats is sunk deep, so that the people sitting behind them have their heads at the level of the rear pillar.

Cars of the 2009 model year have undergone the following changes: in the exterior - a new front bumper and a radiator grille with less massive crossbars (they began to resemble those of the Phantom Coupe and Phantom Drophead Coupe); 21 "wheels in the basic configuration; LED lights door handles; in the interior - a new block of inputs, providing the ability to connect to 12-inch monitors built into folding tables, a larger number of devices; new trim front and rear doors with integrated handles; new dual lamps individual lighting in the rear pillars, adjustable in two directions, climate control buttons, volume and windows for rear seat passengers moved to the door.
Restyled version of the car, first shown to the public in March 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show and subsequently became available to customers as a 2013 model. The 2-Series cars, which Giles Taylor’s chief designer has now worked on, differ from the previous version with the following features: in the exterior, new fully LED headlamps, horizontally separated by an LED strip of daytime running lights; LED rectangular sidelights instead of the usual round; one-piece stamped grille; other front bumper; new corporate badge with integrated side marker lamp on the front wings; enlarged chrome frame rear side windows; single-stage rear bumper instead of two-stage; chrome strip at the bottom of the trunk lid; in the interior - another instrument panel with a larger display diagonal (200 mm); use of another rotating vehicle management system controller, borrowed from the Rolls-Royce Ghost; new, simplified seat design; advanced audio and communication systems; New 8-speed manual transmission from ZF.
