Another feature of today's contemporary architecture is the use, both outside and inside, of new, so-called noble materials such as glass, wood, brick, and metals.  Plants have also made their place in contemporary architecture, on roofs first, but also more and more on the walls. And if you have a green thumb, you can also take advantage of this vegetation to practice gardening vertically, for example, by planting tomato plants along a wall.

Larger and more abundant fenestration is also a feature of contemporary architecture. Multiplication of openings, unusual location of these, panoramic windows, windows-walls, skylights, all are at the rendezvous. Another characteristic of contemporary architecture is the desire to put in place what is called, for lack of a better word, animated architecture. This animated architecture can take many forms, sophisticated exterior lighting of a building, projections on the facades, very often interactive with the passers-by or the users of the building. The water reappears, in the form of jets of water, colored or not, cascades and fountains of all kinds. The goal is to make the building livelier and more livable.
