The first building considered a skyscraper was the Home Insurance Building, designed by the American William Le Baron Jenney. It was built between 1884 and 1885 in Chicago and consisted of ten floors. However, today its height is not impressive and, in fact, if it were built at the present time, it would not be considered a skyscraper. Another possible candidate for the first skyscraper would be the World Building, with 20 floors and built in New York in 1890. However, by modern standards, the first authentic skyscraper would be the Park Row Building in New York, with 30 floors, built in 1899. In Europe, the first skyscraper was the Witte Huis built in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in 1898 in Art Nouveau style with 43 meters and 10 floors. In 1911 the Royal Liver Building was built in Liverpool, United Kingdom, 90 meters and 13 floors, considered one of the first skyscrapers built entirely in concrete. The Kungstornen Towers completed in 1925 in Stockholm are considered the first modern skyscrapers in Europe, although they only reach 61 meters. Other first skyscrapers were the Telephone Building , built in Madrid , between 1926 and 1929 with 89 meters and 15 floors, the Boerentoren in Antwerp, Belgium, 1932 with 87.5 meters and 26 floors (later expanded) and Piacentini Tower in Genoa, Italy, 31 floors and 107 meters high, built between 1935 and 1940. RA starting in the 20s and 30s began to appear skyscrapers in Ibero-American cities Montevideo, Buenos Aires, La Paz, São Paulo, Mexico City, Caracas, Panama City, Santiago de Chile, Bogotá and also in Asia (Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Taiwan), among others.).
