The model has been created using a 3D scan of an anatomical correct human skull model as reference.

The skull model graphic design is included in a high poly version and a SubD version.
The high poly version includes all details without using displacement/ normal maps.
The SubD version creates the details using displacement/ normal maps.

All textures have a resolution of 8129x8129 pixels.

A 3dsMax 2013 and a 3dsMax 2014 version is included.
The 3dsMax 2013 version is ready to render using MentalRay.

All the bones of the skull, except for the lower jaw, are connected by sedentary fibrous joints - sutures; lower jaw - movable temporomandibular joint.

Skull sutures
The bones of the skull are connected by sutures. The bones of the face, adjacent to each other with even edges, form flat (harmonious) seams. At the junction of the scales of the temporal bone and the lower edge of the parietal bone, a scaly suture is formed. Carry coronal, sagittal and lambdoid seams to serrated seams. The coronal suture is formed by joining the parietal bones and the frontal bone. The connection between the two parietal bones forms a sagittal suture. The junction of the two parietal bones and the occipital bone forms a lambdoid suture. At the intersection of the sagittal and coronal seams in children, a large spring is formed (a place in which the connective tissue has not yet passed into the bone). At the intersection of the sagittal and lambdoid sutures a small spring is formed. It should be noted that in children the seams are more resilient, and in adults, especially in the elderly, most of the seams ossify. Also skull is important for human during the consumption of food drink and for breathing.
