The Lamborghini Murcielago is a sports car manufactured between 2001 and 2010, by Italian automaker Lamborghini. Murcielago was introduced in 2001 as a coupe. The car was first available for the 2002 model year in North America.
The first new design of the manufacturer in eleven years, the car was also the first new model of the brand owned by the German parent company Audi. The Murcielago was designed by Luc Donckerwolke, a Belgian born in Peru.
Murcielago is a word for bat in Spanish. The Murciélago is a mid-engine and all-wheel-drive sports car. In the car, the highest point of the roof is just under 4 feet (1.2 m) above ground, with an angular design and an exceptionally low slung body.
The Murciélago’s first generation was produced from 2001 to 2006 and powered by a Lamborghini V12. At the back, the total power distribution is 70% and at the front 30%. Power is supplied by a manual 6-speed transmission.
