In the fields of architecture and urbanism, the rise of environmental issues in the building act echoes this international awareness.
The idea of ​​sustainability is an important part of contemporary architecture. But what are we talking about when we talk about sustainable development in architecture? Responses to problems in creating sustainable architecture are often limited to low-energy buildings. In reality, it is not only an environmental issue but aesthetic, functional, climatic, geographical and social. The architectural concept must, therefore, be considered as a holistic approach to creating a sustainable architecture: it is the goals of sustainable design that take into account the urban elements, the function, the process of use, the structure and aesthetic data. In general, the notion of sustainable architecture such as that of sustainable development is subject to many interpretations, depending on cultures and places.
In this article, we will examine the evolution of editions around sustainable architecture from the 1990s: it is a presentation and analysis based on the documentation around the emergence of the term sustainable development. The research presented here works in terms of a draft to work on sustainable architecture and its influence on the project design process, from the emergence of the founding idea to its programming, its design and its realization.
In particular, there are many facets of architecture, some of which are technology or management-oriented, some of which emphasize health, while others place respect for nature at the center of their concerns. Our work aims to explore the type of architecture that is presented each time. The aim is to establish a reference tool to recognize architectural theory in relation to sustainable development and to discern influences.
