The 57 Chevy is one of the most iconic cars ever built. During the last 25 years the crew at D&P Classic Chevy has built and modified a lot of 57 Chevys. Pro Street 57 Chevy is a style of street-legal custom car usually built to imitate a Pro Stock class race car. It always featured with the following three modifications:
• An NHRA legal roll cage.
• A highly modified, with supercharger or turbo, large capacity V8, V12, V10, V6, I6 engine.
• A narrowed rear axle coupled with oversized rear wheels & at least a 14ft wide x 5ft sidewalls tire for maximum grip and wheelie bars.
To give the car plenty of hard-core performance Paul Rose at Havre de Grace build a 540ci big-block beast capable of spinning the Hoosiers. To get perfection, it was filled with a Bryant Racing Crank linked to Manley H-beam rods wearing JE forged aluminum pistons with a healthy thump from COMP Cams. A set of Dart aluminum heads make plenty of power, especially when combined with a BDS 8-71 supercharger topped with a custom EFI system along with bare metal exterior body followed by shaving the driprails, adding custom door handles from Kindig-It Design, crafting custom inner engine bay panels and adding HID headlights.
