The Volkswagen van, also known as microbus, transporter or Kombi is a light commercial vehicle. As one of the ancestors of the modern cargo and passenger vans, it gave rise to forward control competitors in the United States in the 1960s, including the Ford Econoline, the Dodge A100, and the Chevrolet Corvair 95 Corvan, the latter adapting the rear-engine design of the Corvair car in the same style in which the VW Type 2 adapted the Type 1 layout.

European competitors included the 1947-1981 Citroen H Van, the 1959-1980 Renault Estafette, and the 1953-1965 FR layouts Ford Transit.

The Volkswagen Transporter T5 range belongs to the fifth generation of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles medium-sized light commercial vehicle and people movers. It was launched on 6 January 2003, but went into full production in April 2003, replacing the fourth generation range.

Chief markets for the T5 are Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia, France and Turkey. It is not sold in the US market due to its classification as a light truck, accruing the 25% chicken tax on importation.

With a very realistic look, FlatPyramid has developed a 3D model of the VW Van. It is a strikingly beautiful and realistic model. The design can be used in any project. It is one of the most detailed models of the VW Van that you will come across on the web. It is strikingly beautiful.
