Paris Building 3D model
At the 1925 International Exhibition of Contemporary Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris, the L'Esprit Nouveau pavilion was built according to the Corbusier project. The pavilion included a full-size residential unit of an apartment building - an experimental apartment on two levels. Corbusier used a similar cell later, at the end of the 40s, when creating his Marseille Residential Unit. The Marseille block (1947-1952) is an apartment building in Marseille, located alone in a spacious landscaped area. Corbusier used in this project standardized duplex apartments (on two levels) with balconies overlooking both sides of the house. Inside the building - in the middle of its height - there is a public range of services: a cafeteria, library, post office, grocery stores and more. On the enclosing walls of the loggias, for the first time on such a scale, coloring was applied in bright pure colors - polychrome. Similar Housing Units (partially modified) were erected later in the cities of Nantes-Rezé (1955), Mo (1960), Brie-en-Foret (1961), Firmini (1968) (France), in West Berlin (1957). These buildings embodied the idea of the "Radiant City" of Corbusier - a city favorable for human existence.
