The private island is private property. Private islands exist around the world. There are thousands of uninhabited islands with the potential for developing commercial activities, tourist resorts or private recreational use, many of which are for sale. Almost any island is the territory of a state; to acquire an island, you need to take into account the laws of these states. For example, islands belonging to China cannot be bought, but can be leased for a maximum period of 50 years. After acquiring an island under the laws of the country to which it belongs, it is usually impossible to declare this island an independent territory, although attempts to form microstates have been made. "Private" islands in the UK, Brazil, etc. are not legally completely private, being accessible to the public. Anyone can relax on them, despite the claims of the landowners.
