Sd.Kfz. 250 was a light armoured halftrack, very similar in appearance to the larger Hanomag-designed SD.KFZ 251, and built by the DEMAG firm, for use by Nazi Germany in World War II.
The vehicle was used in a wide variety of roles throughout WW II. The basic troop carrier version was used as an armored personnel carrier for reconnaissance units, carrying scout sections. This basic variant usually mounted one or two MG 34 machineguns. Later variants carried 20 mm, 37 mm, and even 75 mm guns to support the more lightly armed versions.

The SD. KFZ. 250 in German it is called Sonderkraftfahrzeug 250. It was a lightweight armored special motor vehicle built by the DEMAG firm for the Nazi army of Germany in World War 2. It was first of its kind half-track vehicle in the German army.
In 1939, the DEMAG started its development for headquarters, artillery forward observers and the scouts’ vehicle. Its carrying capacity was small there it was very small from its predecessor SD KFZ 251 Hanomag.
The SD KFZ 250/9 was introduced in 1942. It was armed with a 20 mm (0.97 in) KwK 38 autocannon mounted on the turret. Later it was equipped with a Hängelafette 38 and FuG 12 radio. It turned to be a successful half-track reconnaissance vehicle for the Germany Nazi army so they started its mass production in 1943.
