3D Model by Panaristi

Focke Wulf - FW190 A8 3D model originally modeled in cinema4D. Detailed enough for close-up renders. The zip-file contains bodypaint textures and standard materials.

The new modification was designed to fight the Allied bomber and differed from the previous configuration. On the A-8 / R6 series, the armor and armament are significantly strengthened: in addition to the armored seat, the lateral outer sides of the aircraft fuselage are closed in sections from the canopy to the upper root of the wing. Visor in the front of the cabin with bulletproof glass 50 mm thick.

The glider of the aircraft was adapted to install the MW 50 afterburner system. A 118-liter tank for it was mounted in the rear fuselage. If necessary, it could fill the same amount of gasoline. Buck shifted the center of gravity of the aircraft to the tail. To compensate for this deficiency, the ETC 501 bomb rack was shifted 20 cm forward. The bomb carrier itself, starting with the A-8 series, has become a standard part installed on all aircraft. FuG 16ZY radio station was installed on the airplanes, therefore, in addition to the ring-shaped antenna of the radio direction finder, a Moran-type antenna appeared under the left-wing. A typical detail of the aircraft, which allows distinguishing the A-8 from the A-7, is the Pitot tube, which was transferred from the middle part of the front edge of the right-wing to its terminus.

In 1944, the priorities of the Luftwaffe dramatically shifted in favor of the release of fighters (Jaegernotprogramm). This program required a well-established interaction of subcontractors. As a result, the mass production of FW-190 fighters went on almost all the enterprises of the Focke-Wulf company, including the branches in Cottbus, Zorau and Posen (Poznan). The license issue of the fighters was additionally launched at NDV (Norddeutsche-Dornier-Werke) in Wismar. Smaller enterprises were engaged in repairing and modifying aircraft that had already served in combat units. Special coordination commissions monitored production coherence and managed to achieve good results. Despite the constant bombardment, the release of aircraft increased. All managed to collect 1334 aircraft A-8.
