The Yakovlev Pchela-1T is a unmanned aerial vehilce (UAV) manufactured by the Russian
Yakovlev Design Bureau. Its primary use for surveillance and observation in battlefield
environments with downlinked video. Other implementations and uses include target designation
and as a training target.
The Pchela is launched using rocket assist by two solid propellant booster rocket engines, and it is
recovered via parachute.The Pchela-1T has a range 60 km (37mi), flies at 100-2500m (328-8,203ft) altitude at 120-180km/h (75-112mph).

The Pchela-1T unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is a Russian piloted drone vehicle designed by the Russian Yakovlev Structure Agency which is remotely controlled and used for conducting real-time surveillance of ground targets from a safe altitude with TV equipment installed on the vehicle. The Pchela can conduct operations at ranges up to 60 km from its ground remote-control post and can reach altitudes in excess of 8,000 feet can reach at an altitude of 100–2,500 m with speed of120–180 km/h. The maximum takeoff weight for the vehicle is 138 kg (304 lb). The system of vehicles combined with the UAV operations has also been called the Stroy-P system and can remain airborne for two hours.

This Russian reconnaissance drone was designed in the late 1980s, and saw extensive use in Chechnya. It is also known as the Yak-61 Shmel. The system was designed originally for use by Airborne and Naval Infantry troops, and the control center and launcher are mounted on BTR-D airborne combat vehicles. These vehicles are used for tactical reconnaissance as well as target designation.

The vehicle’s design consists of a tube-like fuselage which houses the optics and avionics set in the front and the powerpack in the rear. The optics are held in a traversing blister mounted in the chin position and integrates real-time video feeds with protected data-link capability – giving ground commanders access to real-time battlefield data.
