Sd.Kfz. 251/7 - Vehicle used by combat engineers or Pioneers. The engineer version of the famous German halftrack carried bridging sections and engineering equipment such as explosives. Armed with a sPzB41. The sPzB 41 squeeze-bore antitank gun had a caliber of 2.8cm. It saw action on the Eastern Front, in North Africa and Western Europe. The addition of this weapon on the Sd.Kfz. 251 halftrack gave German troops a useful antitank capability.


SD.KFZ 251/7 Ausf.C – Assault Engineer Vehicle played a very significant role in World War II. It was also known as Pionerpanzerwagen. It was having fittings for carrying assault bridge ramps on the sides.
It was the Germans World war II armored fighting vehicle, which was designed by Hanomag Company. The design and structure were based on its earlier version Sd.kfz.11. This killing machine was designed to carry German infantry into the battle. It was the most produced half-truck of Germany with the no of at least 15,252 vehicles. It was commonly referred to as Hanomag.

It was able to protect the occupants from small arms fires and artillery fires. The SD.KFZ 251/1 Ausf.B – Hanomag Halftruck was mounted with MG 34 or MG 42 machine guns, which allowed the vehicle to fire suppressively to the enemy.

It was carrying one Maybach HL42 6-cylinder petrol engine producing 100 PS (99 hp, 74 kW) easily. The operational range of this vehicle was 300 km, whereas it was able to crawl with a speed of 52.5 km/h. The early model was introduced in 1939 and issued to the 1st panzer division.
