The Mauser C96 3D mode from Construction 96, i.e., “Model 1896”, is a German self-loading pistol developed in 1895. The Mauser company produced many different models of pistols for the police, the military, and the civilian market, but none of them enjoyed such popularity as the K96, therefore the phrase “Mauser pistol” almost always refers to this particular model.

The gun was developed by Mauser employees - brothers Fidel, Friedrich and Joseph Federle (Feederle). Fidel Federle was in charge of the experimental workshop of the Mauser armory (Waffenfabrik Mauser), and the new pistol was originally called the P-7.63 or the Federle pistol. Subsequently, the pistol was patented in the name of Paul Mauser in Germany in 1895 (German Reichspatent No. 90430 dated September 11, 1895), in Great Britain in 1896.

On August 20, 1896, Fidel Federle and Paul Mauser presented a pistol to Kaiser Wilhelm II at his Katarinenholz residence in Potsdam. Kaiser personally made twenty target shots from three hundred meters and was very pleased with the next achievement of the German gunsmiths. The gun that the Kaiser was holding in his hands was kept for the story with an engraving “Read Me! Emperor Wilhelm II shot me ”(Halte mich in Ehren! Kaiser Wilhelm II hat aus mir geschossen).

In 1896, the first pistols were made, in 1897, their mass production began, which lasted until 1939. During this time, more than a million C96 pistols were fired.

One of the reasons why a Mauser pistol is so popular is its effectiveness. It is this gun that can be defined as the world's first model of a PDW (Personal Defense Weapon) class weapon. The gun is positioned as a small automatic carabiner, which is essentially what it is: a wooden holster is used as a butt, and the rate of fire is up to 90 rounds per minute.
