Sd. Kfz.251/17 3D model - mittlerer Schützenpanzerwagen mit 2 cm Flak 38 is a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun. Automatic Flak 38 anti-aircraft cannon caliber 20 mm for a regular shield in the middle of the body with folding sides. Ammunition 600 shots. Combat weight of 8.8 tons, crew of 4 - 6 people. Manufactured 211 units.
The distant ancestor of the Sd Kfz 251 was a Daimler semi-tracked truck. This truck, manufactured by the Germans for Portugal, was fitted with rubber bands that connected the drive wheels with an additional pair of guide wheels. Such a primitive caterpillar allowed the car to confidently move on soft ground.
In the years 1915-1916, the next models of semi-tracked vehicles appeared - the “Bremenvagen” and “Marinevagen” I and II. These vehicles were in service with the Sturm-Panzerkraftwagen-Abteilung (battalion of assault armored vehicles). In 1917, the firm Bentz introduced the half-tracked artillery tractor "Kraftprotse", which subsequently were released 42 pieces. In 1919, one such vehicle received a reservation and was handed over to the police. In the period of the Weimar Republic, work on new designs of semi-tracked vehicles was continued.
