Panzer III was the common name of a medium tank that was developed in the 1930s by Germany and was used extensively in World War II. The official German designation was Panzerkampfwagen III Sd Kfz. 141 (abbreviated PzKpfw III) translating as "armoured fighting vehicle".
This tank was made to fight and destroy the enemy’s war tanks. Therefore a 50-mm gun was specified initially, which led to an increase in the turret ring size. Later on, this decision became a reason for the Panzer III longer life in Germany’s army. The Ausf G was equipped with 3.7 cm KwK 36 L/45, which was proved satisfactory during the 1939 and 40’s campaigns.
At its heart a 12-cylinder Maybach HL120 TRM300 PS (296 hp, 220 kW) is placed, which can generate the power of 12hp (9.6kW)/ tone. It has a very large fuel capacity 300-320 liter and can run with a speed of 40 km/h.
