Baby clothes are clothes designed exclusively for children. There are clothes for babies (from birth to 36 months), preschoolers (up to 7 years), children (from 7 to 12 years) and teenagers (from 12 to 16 years).
Initially, as such, children’s clothing did not exist. Children either dressed in the same way as adults or even donned the means at hand (for example, the children of the poor often wore sackcloth).
The baby and children apparel as itself appeared at the beginning of the XIX century in England on the background of the start of simplifying dresses. The so-called “sailor suits” (sailor) were very popular in those days.
During XIX century, in Europe, much attention was paid to various uniforms that the children of noblemen carried not only to the gymnasium and to the reception, but often also in everyday life. Later, along with the simplification of life came the simplification of clothing, including children’s clothing. The child began to dress simply and comfortably, but extremely standardized.
