The founding date of the corporation is December 26, 1933, when, as a result of the merger of the Tobat Imono and Nihon Sangyo companies, a new company was created, which since June 1, 1934, has the name Nissan Motor (after the first letters of the name Nihon Sangyo) – “Japanese industry”).
In May 1935, the company decided to develop the Nissan brand, but almost until the 1980s, the company’s face was various modifications of Datsun cars, which were produced before the company was established (in 1986 this brand ceased to exist, and in 2013 Datsun car production was resumed.).
Since the early 1950s, the company actively and successfully began to engage in the development and production of rocket engines, rocket launchers, and then decided to expand the manufacturing sector, also engaging in the manufacture of engines for the shipbuilding industry.
The emblem looks like a brand name in a circle, which means the rising sun, symbolizing sincerity. The emblem used to be different. The circle was red, and the rectangle with the name of the company was blue, meaning sky. Thus, the emblem expresses the slogan of the company “Sincerity brings success”.
